Fabricate the torque tube welding fixture that I CAD modeled. Also cut the reilefs in the idler bracket and stick boot. Then I welded on the idler bracket using the fixture. I also welded on the end plug on the torque tube
I’ve decided to remake the Torque Tube. As frustrating as it is, there are just too many dimensional inaccuracies and I’m just not happy with it. For example, the control stick which was made to spec doesn’t fit in the stick boot. I also had issues with elevator idler bracket being twisted. I also decided to model a welding fixture this time. I’ll be fabricating it prior to welding the assembly together.
